You can be a complete beginner or just need to refresh or update your Autocad skills.
Once you have taken our 5 day course and achieved your certification, if there is a gap of time before a confirmed job offer, you would be welcome to take a further free place on one of our existing 5 day Autocad training courses with certification. This would top up your skills and could be a good reason for an employer to offer you a job.
We do believe that we can improve your chances of getting a well paid CAD job. Particularly as you might be able to find unadvertised temporary employment with local companies, if you have good CAD skills. Temporary employment that could turn into full time.
Check out Autocad vacancies on sites such as www.careerjet.net by searching on the keyword "Autocad". Can you find vacancies that require only good CAD skills? Some examples: Electrical contractors, Heating & Ventillation or Air Conditioning companies, Warehouse racking installers. Can you now find these same types of companies who are local to you?
As the recession lifts these companies will be advertising vacancies. Could you be first in the queue because you are already on a short term employment contract with them?
Any builders want a job inside?
Do you already have first hand knowledge of construction methods in the building industry. I was talking with architects recently. Their business is reviving. Trouble is there is a shortage of Architectural detailers. i.e. People with good CAD skills who also have good first hand knowledge of building construction methods.
Good news: In a survey by Price WaterhouseCoopers, published in the Times newspaper on 27th January:- 42% of bosses questioned are expecting an increase in hiring during this year.
The scope of our short full time course is determined by CADsmart Autocad skills assessment software.
The same software that large companies use to objectively assess the training requirements of their existing Autocad users and job candidates. Typical trainee's assessment scores, achieved by previous delegates, were 75%, 71%, 77% and 71% which were over the current average for Autocad user's of 62%.

What happens if I don't get a pass assessment score?
The majority do achieve scores of 70% + which compares favourably with current existing Autocad user scores of 62%. We aim to produce the best 2D Autocad trained personnel in the UK. If you get less than 62%, subject to some restrictions, you can have a free place on another course.
Typically other courses don't allow you to re-take or provide only "course completed" training certificates without certifcation at additional cost.
How soon can you apply for jobs with your certificate?
Your certificate will be emailed to you automatically at the end of your course. You don't have to wait for many weeks before you can apply for jobs.
How long is the course and how much are the course fees?
This is a 5 day full time course and the course fees are £495.
Many other courses go on for weeks. This suits the government's employment figures. If you are on any government training course, you don't count in the number of unemployed. How many people do you know who have got a job as a result of a government training course?
I already have some experience of Autocad is this course suitable for a refresher/update?
Yes. Our short courses are run on the latest software. It's surprising when trainees gasp with delight when they see many short cuts and tips, which are part of our course. Remember we prepare trainees for those demanding employers who want to see real productivity in their Autocad users. You may find that your "course completed" or "course attended" training certificates will be trumped by job candidates with CADsmart certification. If you apply for a job with a company that subscribes to CADsmart software you will be faced with a CADsmart assessment as part of your job interview. This assessment assumes knowledge of "advanced or intermediate" topics, which are typically not present in basic or "essentials" courses. In our experience most existing users in companies would score low marks in a CADsmart job interview assessment.
How good is the CADSMART Autocad skills certificate?
CADsmart software is sold to employers who use it to objectively evaluate the skills of their Autocad users and job candidates. So CADsmart skills assessments directly reflect the skills that employers want to see in their job candidates. So CADsmart certification could provide you with an edge over your competition for a job if you point out the beneifts on your CV.
Surely a City & Guilds course will cover more topics than your short full time course?
We don't pretend to know the full scope of City & Guilds courses. However CADsmart certification directly represents the skills that employers want to see in their current Autocad users and job candidates.
